Work Life Balance

My day started with coffee and sanding. I was supposed to be sending a cutting board to SF tomorrow but it seems to have warped in the night. So without a reasonable way to flatten it (I found out a planer is a bad idea) I began sanding. Meticulously taking small amounts of then referencing the board to a flat edge and laying on a table. This went on for a few hours each time more wobble seemed to appear from nowhere or someplace completely unexpected. The learning here is that I need a better system. And spending 50 dollars on a bit and a makeshift router sled will save me much more than than a few hours. This put me behind on my task for the day. But I canceled those to insead go hiking with a friend up rattlesnake canyon. It was nice to get out for the afternoon and not think about my small business, I just started this project and for the last few weeks it has consumed me. I need to remember that rest and breaks are healthy and aid in longevity… even If I just end up working in the evening… Ah well, It was still a lovely afternoon.
